Humanitarians and activists are on the frontlines of today's biggest social justice struggles and humanitarian catastrophes... and they are burning out at alarmingly high rates.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, In-Sight Collaborative moved away from direct aid provision and into the humanitarian education space. As our programs evolved and expanded, we had the opportunity to learn from and with humanitarians from around the world.
One thing became clear: humanitarians and activists on the frontlines are struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. Chronically under-resourced, our sector lacks the capacity and culture to provide holistic support for the people on the frontlines.
Our humanness, and our humanity, are often forgotten in the day to day operations of humanitarian organizations. We can be so focused on the needs of others that we forget ourselves, and we forget that we too are made vulnerable. If this continues, no one will be left to run this sector.
This Giving Tuesday, In-Sight Collaborative is launching our Campaign of Care with the goal of bringing in 100 new subscribers who will contribute to wellness initiatives for humanitarians around the world in 2026. Up to $10,000 of funds raised through this campaign will be matched by a family foundation in 2026!
